There are kids that need some attention. Children that faced some kind of trauma, anxiety disorder or ADD (or ADHD). For you, mother and father, that have kids that have those kind of disorders, don’t worry. There are plenty of options that can help you and your kids. There are a lot of therapeutical activities for children, which could bring you and your kids some relief.
There are some groups for kids that offers a place to feel and express fears and anxiety, along help your children to overcome some kinds of trauma he/she has suffered. These groups are called support groups for kids. Maybe, at first time, the kids will fell stressful and a lot of pressure when they attend those reunions, but if the group starts with a simple technique that envolves images, it will help to relax and your kids will be more open to discuss, fell and tell what they are feeling. It is a simple technique that helps a lot. Another commom and easy technique, and, in fact, it is a simple one, is breathing. It is very easy: just sit down with them and ask them to breathe and focus on this exercise (make them focus on breathing). So, to make their children pay attention to this, you start counting, slowly and peacefully, from 1 to 10. After that, watch the kids. Are they feeling camler, more relaxed? Make them pratice a lot with this exercise. Breathing and meditating is a very efficient way to get your children calm and relaxed. Another good therapeutical activity for children is using colors. You, as a experience mother and father, knows that kids loves colors. So, for your information, colors could help you to know how is your kid’s emotions and feelings. Combined with breathing, meditation and mucle relaxation (or sometimes it is called progressive muscle relaxation, a.k.a PMR), it will help your children to tell you what they are feeling and focus on this feeling There is another good therapeutical activitiy for kids: Art. If you encourage them to make some activities that I will propose to you, those activities will make them express their feelings. Those therapeutical activities for these children are: Painting, drawing, playing with clay and crayon and do some collage. Those activities makes them happy and they are more open to discuss their emotons and makes them caml and relaxed. Ok, I have listed four therapeutical activities for your children, but what I haven’t told you is there are more, many more therapeutical activities for children. Here they are: 1) Why don’t you make your children go to a swimming pool. Play and have some fun with them. Do some splashng game. Put some toys like a ball, a ring or some king of beach toys. I know they will like it. 2) Music: Music makes your children happy and will help them to calm down. Why don’t make some music with them, playing with an acoustic guitar or playing a drum. Let them make some music playing these kind of instruments. But, please, do me a favor: don’t start with heavy metal songs. These kids are very sensitive.
